Cookie Policy

The cookies HotMegle uses, in plain terms: the strictly necessary ones your guest session rides on, preference cookies, anonymous analytics, partner cookies during checkout, and how to refuse them all.

What cookies do here

Cookies are small files your browser keeps so a site knows which session is yours. On HotMegle they do exactly three jobs: holding your guest session together while you match, remembering small settings, and counting visits in aggregate without identifying anyone. Nothing else.

The cookies HotMegle sets

The strictly necessary cookies carry your session through the matching flow — disable them and the service stops working outright. Preference cookies spare you from re-answering the same settings. Analytics cookies count traffic in aggregate and stay anonymous: they tell us which pages deserve work, never who visited them.

Cookies from partners

Buying coins goes through an external payment processor, and that processor can set its own cookies to run checkout and fight fraud. Those are governed by the processor’s own policy — and the card details they protect never reach HotMegle.

Refusing, or wiping everything

Any modern browser lets you block or erase cookies from its privacy settings. Blocking the strictly necessary kind breaks matching altogether; blocking the others just costs you a few remembered preferences. Erasing cookies also wipes your guest session — which is occasionally exactly what you want.

Changes and questions

When the cookie setup changes, so does this page — the version here is always the current one. The wider data picture is in the privacy policy, and unanswered questions go to [email protected] via the contact page.
